{"id":4771,"date":"2018-12-10T10:28:07","date_gmt":"2018-12-10T10:28:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/esu-online.org\/new2022\/projects\/social-inclusion-through-participation-and-democracy-promoting-active-citizenship-in-the-european-student-movement\/"},"modified":"2022-10-11T08:12:05","modified_gmt":"2022-10-11T08:12:05","slug":"social-inclusion-through-participation-and-democracy-promoting-active-citizenship-in-the-european-student-movement","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/esu-online.org\/projects\/social-inclusion-through-participation-and-democracy-promoting-active-citizenship-in-the-european-student-movement\/","title":{"rendered":"Social Inclusion Through Participation and Democracy \u2013 promoting active citizenship in the European student movement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Description<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The European Students\u2019 Union (ESU) is currently working on a project entitled <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Social Inclusion Through Participation and Democracy \u2013 promoting active citizenship in the European student movement<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, supported by<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coe.int\/en\/web\/european-youth-foundation\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the European Youth Foundation (EYF) <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the Council of Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This project offers an opportunity to host a series of workshops in different European countries.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Objectives &nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main goal of this project is to enhance student participation in democratic life in European societies and develop skills on how to create inclusive and safe environments for participation.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nowadays, more than ever we need to develop strategies to strengthen critical thinking and support young people when it comes to actively take part in society. ESU contributes in doing so by carrying out these series of Seminars.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Timeline of the Project:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/esu-online.org\/?news=esu-training-the-trainers\">Training the Trainers<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> event took place between the 19th and the 22nd of August 2018, in Ghent, Belgium. The aim was to train the members who will now be forming the nucleus of our <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/esu-online.org\/?news=esu-pool-trainers-call-2018\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pool of Trainers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The training was focused on providing new insights into different learning methods, explain the role of the trainer and start designing their future sessions.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/esu-online.org\/?news=training-vienna-democratisation-youth-participation\">Training on Democratisation and Youth Participation in Civic Life<\/a><\/strong> was organised together with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oeh.ac.at\/\">\u00d6H -\u00d6sterreichische Hochsch\u00fclerinnenschaft<\/a> between the 26th and the 29th of September, in Vienna. Twenty participants from more than ten different European countries attended the seminar. The main objective of this event was to enhance student participation in democratic life and develop skills on how to create inclusive and safe environments for participation.<\/li><li>The <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/esu-online.org\/?news=training-migration-bosnia-herzegovina\">Training on Migration<\/a><\/strong> took place between the 1st and the 4th of November in Banja Luka, in Bosnia Herzegovina. The session focused on providing students with knowledge, skills and tools for a better inclusion of students who are refugees or with a migration background in higher education.<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The<strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/esu-online.org\/?news=seminar-mental-health\">Training on Mental Health<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;was organised in Riga between the 6th and the 9th of December 2018.
