{"id":4773,"date":"2019-01-14T11:43:42","date_gmt":"2019-01-14T11:43:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/esu-online.org\/new2022\/projects\/react-refugees-and-recognition-an-erasmus-project\/"},"modified":"2022-10-11T08:26:55","modified_gmt":"2022-10-11T08:26:55","slug":"react-refugees-and-recognition-an-erasmus-project","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/esu-online.org\/projects\/react-refugees-and-recognition-an-erasmus-project\/","title":{"rendered":"REACT \u2013 Refugees and Recognition \u2013 An Erasmus+ Project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The overall goal of the project is to enhance the mobility, employability and access to further studies for refugees, displaced persons and persons in a refugee-like situation \u2013 including those without official documentation of their educational background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project builds on the recently completed&nbsp;<a title=\"The Erasmus+ project &quot;Refugees and Recognition&quot;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nokut.no\/en\/about-nokut\/international-cooperation\/erasmus-projects\/refugees-and-recognition\/\">Erasmus+ project &#8220;Refugees and Recognition&#8221;<\/a>, which developed a common methodological approach to the recognition of refugees\u2019 qualifications. Taking this work a step further, the REACT-project will develop and test this methodology in major refugee-receiving countries and in cooperation with higher education institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim is to establish a more efficient and consistent approach to the recognition of refugees\u2019 qualifications in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The European Students&#8217; Union (ESU) -together with representatives from <a href=\"https:\/\/eua.eu\/\">EUA<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/kiron.ngo\/\">KIRON<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cicic.ca\/\">CICIC<\/a> and the ENIC Bureau President- is taking part in the project steering group, giving guidance and strategic advice to the project group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Main project activities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Testing and adaptation of the toolkit developed in the previous project, in close cooperation with higher education institutions<\/li><li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Provide recommendations to higher education institutions and identifying best practice cases that illustrate pathways for admission of refugee students to further studies<\/li><li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Developing five refugee country briefings<\/li><li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Developing e-learning modules based on the refugee country briefings<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Timeline<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Kick-off seminar in Oslo, April 2018<br>\u2013&nbsp;<a title=\"Agenda initial meeting 300418 (pdf)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nokut.no\/contentassets\/26cc0bd975124127912bf5a6cd7a2d14\/agenda_initial_meeting_react_300418.pdf\">The meeting agenda (pdf)<br><\/a>\u2013&nbsp;<a title=\"Minutes from the meeting (pdf)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nokut.no\/contentassets\/26cc0bd975124127912bf5a6cd7a2d14\/kick-off_minutes_final_04052018.pdf\">Minutes from the meeting (pdf)<\/a><\/li><li>Fact-finding seminar in Rome, 1.
