The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme Key Action 3 \u2013 Support to Policy Reform.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project Duration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>1 May 2019 \u2013 30 April 2021 (24 months)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Background<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is framed by the 2012 Bucharest ministerial communiqu\u00e9 which stated:&nbsp;<em>\u201cWe commit to both maintaining the public responsibility for quality assurance and to&nbsp;<strong>actively involve a wide range of stakeholders in this development<\/strong>.\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;In the 2018 Paris Communiqu\u00e9, the ministers of education stated that&nbsp;<em>\u201cfulfilling our commitments depends on the concerted efforts of&nbsp;<strong>national policy-makers, public authorities, institutions, staff, students and other stakeholders<\/strong>&nbsp;as well as coordination at EHEA level.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bologna Implementation Report concludes:&nbsp;<em>\u201c<strong>there is still improvement to be made to meet the Bologna Process commitment to full student engagement<\/strong>.<\/em>&nbsp;[Concerning employers, in 19 out of 48 countries,]&nbsp;<em><strong>there are no formal requirements with regard to the involvement of employers.<\/strong>\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the Thematic Peer Group C on Quality Assurance (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ehea.info\/page-peer-group-C-QA\">TPG C on QA<\/a>) of BFUG identified the theme \u201cRole and engagement of stakeholders in internal and external quality assurance\u201d as one in which work is further needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Objectives and project activities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The ESQA project aims to support the activity of the Peer Group C on stakeholders\u2019 involvement in external quality assurance (EQA). It will explore various categories of stakeholder engagement and expectations stakeholders have towards EQA with the aim to make this engagement effective and diversified. Recommendations will be provided to the national authorities and QA agencies in terms of stakeholders\u2019 involvement, regarding ways to strengthen dialogue and cooperation, as well for their effective involvement in QA processes.
